In the first half of December, the volume of agricultural exports via road transport nearly matched the November figure, amounting to 180 thousand tonnes. During this period, an increase in road freight volumes was observed at the Polish and Hungarian borders, up by 10% and 14.5%, respectively, reaching 74.28 thousand tonnes and 22.11 thousand tonnes.
At other border points, a decline in the throughput of agricultural products was recorded. The most significant decrease occurred at the Romanian and Moldovan borders, where agricultural exports dropped by 12.7% and 10.5%, to 45.47 thousand tonnes and 26.68 thousand tonnes, respectively. The Slovakian direction saw a more moderate reduction of 4.6%, down to 11.46 thousand tonnes.
The leading export commodities in the first half of December were sunflower oil (20.6 thousand tonnes) and poultry meat (12 thousand tonnes).
Domestic road freight rates decreased by an average of $2 compared to the previous week, while rates on European routes remained stable.
