In April, Ukraine exported 293.5 thousand tonnes of agricultural products by road, marking a 9.6% decrease compared to March. A decline in cargo volumes was recorded across all border checkpoints.
The largest drop was observed at the Slovak border — down by 20.5% to 15.5 thousand tonnes. Exports through Romanian and Polish border points fell by 15.8% and 8.6%, reaching 71.2 thousand tonnes and 122.6 thousand tonnes, respectively.
The smallest declines were registered at the Hungarian and Moldovan borders, where volumes dropped by 3.5% and 1.3% to 37.6 thousand tonnes and 46.1 thousand tonnes.
The key export commodities for the month were sunflower oil (31.4 thousand tonnes) and sugar (26.3 thousand tonnes).
During the first five days of May, road exports of agricultural goods totaled 45 thousand tonnes — 16% lower compared to the same period in April.
Domestic freight rates in Ukraine rose by $1–3 per tonne, while tariffs for European routes decreased by €2–3.
