UKRAINE
- According to EAIS data from the State Customs Service of Ukraine, the country’s December exports of grains, oilseeds, and their processed products amounted to: corn – 2,497 KMT, wheat – 788.5 KMT, barley – 122.3 KMT, soybeans – 343.9 KMT, rapeseed – 130 KMT, sunflower seeds – 1.27 KMT, sunflower oil – 400.2 KMT, soybean oil – 43.4 KMT, and meal – 342.1 KMT.
WORLD
- China is accelerating efforts to ensure food security and plans to increase grain production by 50 million tons by 2030, which is 7% higher compared to last year’s record harvest of 706.5 million tons. The focus is primarily on improving yields of corn, rice, wheat, soybeans, and rapeseed.
EUROPE
- EU corn imports from July 1 to January 6 amounted to 10.1 mln tons, up 5% compared to the same period last year. Ukraine’s share in total imports stands at 55.1% (compared to 55.7% last year). The absolute volume increased to 5.5 mln tons (from 5.3 mln tons last year). Brazil and the U.S. account for 16% and 15.3%, respectively (compared to 29.1% and 1.1% last year). The absolute volumes for these countries are 1.6 mln tons and 1.5 mln tons, respectively (down from 2.8 mln t and up from 0.1 mln t last year).
- EU soft wheat imports decreased by 11% to 4.4 million tons compared to last year. Ukraine’s share in the import structure declined slightly to 67.3% (from 66.7% last year).
COMMODITY MARKET
CORN
The European corn market remains quiet after the holidays, which is typical for the beginning of the year.
In contrast, the domestic market in Ukraine is experiencing the opposite trend. Market activity is high, with increasing demand from buyers supporting trading dynamics. At the same time, supply remains sufficient. In Odesa ports, corn was traded at an average price of $206–209 DAP.

WHEAT
After the New Year holidays, the wheat market in Ukraine has gained momentum. Demand is particularly strong for milling wheat. The spread between milling and feed wheat has widened to $8–$10, highlighting the premium for high-protein grain.

SUNFLOWER
The sunflower market saw a gradual increase in prices offered by processors seeking to boost purchases following a recent price correction. Sunflower seed supply remained limited. As a result, prices rose by an average of 300–400 UAH per ton at 46% oil content.
Spot market prices for sunflower oil averaged $1050–1060 CPT port. Sunflower meal (granulated) traded at $205–215 CPT port.

SOYBEANS
Throughout the week, soybean prices on the domestic market declined due to active supply from sellers and cautious behavior from buyers. Demand remains weak, driven by low activity on the export market and expectations of further price decreases. This imbalance allows buyers to dictate market conditions.
